ABOUT
The Maine Athletic Health Center was founded in 2018 with the clear vision of bringing the very best in modern sports medicine tools to central Maine. We bring decades of combined experience in sports medicine, data analytics, musculoskeletal medicine, and side-line injury management to our practice with the express purpose of helping everyone that comes through our doors replace guesswork with objective, useful information so patients, coaches, and clinicians can act with confidence.

Personal Trainer
Ethan Crawford operates the Biomechanics lab at the Maine Athletic Health Center, where he leads our Gait & Biofeedback testing and provides personal training and sports performance coaching. He turns 3D motion capture, surface EMG, and force/pressure data into clear, individualized plans that improve gait symmetry, joint mechanics, and speed. His background includes two internships with the Arizona Diamondbacks focused on early-stage rehab, return-to-throw and return-to-run progressions, and day-to-day performance support; research with Healy Chiropractic using force plates to study balance, asymmetry, and injury-risk screening; and experience in college-athlete strength and conditioning. Comfortable with athletes and active clients of all levels, he blends objective testing, practical progressions, and straightforward coaching to help people move well, feel strong, and perform at their best.

Dr. Patrick Healy

Our
Story
At the Maine Athletic Health Center, our story begins with a simple question — how can science help our athletes move, train, and recover better?
What started as a vision to bridge cutting-edge sports science with real-world athletic care has grown into a community-based performance lab where data meets dedication. Our team brings advanced motion-sensing technology, biomechanics research, and performance testing out of the university lab and into the hands of the athletes, parents, and coaches who need it most.
We believe every athlete — from youth sports to college and beyond — deserves access to the same level of precision and feedback used by elite professionals. That’s why we’ve built an environment where science drives understanding and understanding drives confidence. Using systems like Noraxon’s Research Pro IMUs, EMG sensors, pressure insoles, and high-speed cameras, we capture how the body moves in real time and turn that data into clear, actionable insight.
But Maine Athletic Health Center is more than just technology — it’s a place where families and professionals come together to help athletes move safely, recover fully, and perform at their best. By combining objective data with a supportive, collaborative approach, we’re helping shape the next generation of injury-resilient, confident, and educated athletes.
