Services

Gait Analysis
&
Biofeedback Training

We measure what matters in your stride—cadence, step/stride length, contact time, symmetry/variability, foot-strike, and shock patterns - condensed into a symmetry report custom made by our team. Then, we personally train you with this data: real-time biofeedback and optimized programming to maximize your personal potential and prevent injuries.

Good for: Return-to-run/walk, recurring injury, movement efficiency, marathon training.

You get: Gait Analysis, 1:1 coached training session(s), home-exercisesand a scheduled re-test benchmark.

Athletic Assessment & Biofeedback Performance Training

Built for competitors and committed movers. We run a sport-aware movement assessment that uses motion sensing gait metrics, electromyography, 3D mobility tracking, and power production to assess where you're at. With this information, we are able to create data driven programming to take you to the next level.

Good for: Prospective college athletes, in-season and offseason athletes, CF/Hyrox Competitors, and tactical athletes.

You get: Biofeedback testing, 1:1 performance training, supplemental at-home programs, and measurable checkpoints.

Movement Analysis Referral

World-class measurement delivered in partnership with your existing care team. We capture spatiotemporal and kinematic gait metrics, specific table tests, and video; then send a clinician-ready report to your PT, trainer, chiropractor, or provider. Recommendations focus on loading, drills, and referral flags—so your team can act quickly with shared facts.

Good for: Patients already working with a musculoskeletal specialist who need clear data to guide care.

You get: Testing only (no in-house treatment), a concise report within 24–48 hours, and direct handoff to your provider.

Our Technology

Explore our cutting-edge technology in motion sensing gait analysis, electromyography, insole pressure sensors, and more. Our tools allow for precise objective data collection, to allow for premier programming.

Gait Motion Sensing

Our Wireless Noraxon motion sensors use spatiotemporal technology to map your gait in 3D. These lightweight sensors comfortably attach to your feet, shins, thighs, pelvis, and trunk to track joint angles, timing, and accelerations from side to side. We turn these numbers into a condensed report with a clear plan - mobility, strength, and technique - to improve your numbers side to side.

2D Tracking

Our camera based 2D tracking turns any movement - squats, jumps, sprints, or throws - into precise joint data. Our research engine builds live a motion tracking array over a moving body, then extrapolates this into a personalized report on your joint performance. This allows us to see functional compensations, asymmetries, and energy leaks through any movement, sports specific or not.

Surface Electromyography

Our Surface EMGs help us to see which muscles are working, and which may be lacking in any movement. Smal adhesive sensors can sit over any key muscle, ranging from the glutes all the way to the biceps. Once attached, we have our clients perform specific movements to compare muscle activation side to side. These are key metrics in our programming to ensure muscle activity is symmetrical, from left to right.

Ancore Speed Data

Our ANCORE Cable System has live feedback, which turns every repetition into actionable data. As you press, pull, or rotate, the unit displays rep velocity and consistency in real time, letting program velocity-based training, a key method to increase your power and on field performance. These metrics can also be progressed and measured, to see progress as well as in season readiness.

In-Sole Pressure Sensing

Our wireless foot-pressure insoles show exactly how you load each foot with every step. The system captures a multi-zone pressure, center of pressure path, and timing to spot asymmetries in different phases of gait or functional movements. This objective data allows for us to program specific drills to correct these differences.

Power and Readiness Screen

A 10 minute snapshot using a vertical jump, broad jump, and grip strength to profile explosive power, propulsion, and day-to-day readiness. The nature of this is fast and low-impact, so this can work before practice or after games to flag for general fatigue. Additionally, this snapshot provides us with objective knowledge on your explosive power progression.

ABOUT US

Maine Athletic Health Center opened in 2018 in Brewer, Maine, with a simple promise: less guessing, better movement. We measure how you walk and run, show you what the numbers mean in plain language, and then coach the next right step with you in the room. For athletes, that looks like focused performance blocks and biofeedback; for everyday movers, it’s clear drills, loading, and pacing that fit real life. If you’re already working with a PT, trainer, chiropractor, or physician, we act as a partner in your care team: you’re tested here and your provider gets a clean, ready-to-use report.

We serve runners, field and court athletes, active workers, and older adults who want steadier, safer steps. Every training plan also includes retesting, so progress isn’t a guess.

Profession-agnostic, outcome-driven, and proudly based in Brewer.

Without Data, you're just another person with an opinion.
